HAIR REMOVAL
What
is it?
While
all light based and laser devices use only the light energy (blocking
the heat), the SpectraClear® uses its patented LHE technology
combining Light and Heat to coagulate the hair follicle. About 85% of
the coagulation is done by Heat while the remaining 15% is Light. To
penetrate the hair follicle and coagulate the bulb, the SpectraClear®
optimizes the following three parameters: wavelength, spot size and
pulse duration. ↑ TOP ↑
Is
it permanent?
Most
people enjoy permanent hair removal. The heat and light destroy the
follicle so it can no longer grow. However, hormone changes and different
medicines can cause other hair follicles that were previously dormant
to start new growth, as with any permanent hair removal system.↑ TOP ↑
How much does it cost?
Because
the hair follicle can only be destroyed while it is in the anagen phase
of growth (still growing), and only about 10% - 30% of your hair is
in this stage at any given time. So while you can see results after
the first treatment, it usually takes 4 - 6 treatments to get the results
you want by destroying the follicle while it is in the anagen phase.↑ TOP ↑
Cost varies depending
on which areas are done and the number of treatments needed. There are
also cost breaks associated with doing more than one area and purchasing
a package rather than an individual treatment.
For example, an
individual treatment on the upper lip costs $50. Paying individually for each of six treatments would equal a total cost of $300. A Six-treatment Upper
Lip Discount Package of 6 treatments only costs $270. Your savings is $30. We also offer discounts on the purchase of multiple
packages (for example, an upper lip package and a bikini line package).

How long does it take?
A
treatment can last from 10 minutes for an upper lip, to a little over
an hour for the upper and lower legs. Be sure to ask about your specific treatment so you can allow for enough time.↑ TOP ↑
How many treatments do you need?
The
hair follicle can only be destroyed while it is in the anagen phase
of growth (still growing) yet only about 20% - 30% of your hair is in
this stage at any given time. So while you can see results after the
first treatment, it usually takes 4-6 treatments to get the results
you want by destroying the follicle while it is in the anagen phase.↑ TOP ↑
Every part of the
body grows hair at a different rate, so to catch as many hairs as possible
in the anagen phase it is ideal to treat, say the legs, every 4 months.
However, we recommend doing one treatment every 4-6 weeks so you can
enjoy the results much more quickly. We offer major discounts on up
to 4 follow-up sessions if they are needed after the five-treatment
package is finished to achieve your desired results. A year and a half
is too long to wait for smooth skin!↑ TOP ↑
Does it hurt?
Different areas of the body will be more sensitive (think
of waxing a bikini line vs. your chin). Individuals react to the process
differently, from no discomfort at all to some discomfort even while
using a skin numbing lotion.↑ TOP ↑
How does it compare to lasers and intense pulsed light?
SpectraClear,
the device we use, combines light and heat into energy that generates
20% light and 80% USED heat. Lasers convert their energy to 5% light
and 95% UNUSED heat and intense pulse light devices convert their energy
to 15% light and 85% UNUSED heat.
That translates
into a safer, less painful and more effective treatment using SpectraClear's
Intense Pulsed Light and Heat Energy (LHE).↑ TOP ↑
Are there any risks?
Yes. The
risks are smaller than using a laser to effect hair removal, but with
any permanent hair removal system there are some risks to the skin,
although most are not permanent. We screen all of our clients to make
sure they are good candidates for permanent hair removal. The screening
process and the small skin area test we do minimize these risks.↑ TOP ↑
What are the rewards?
Imagine
not having to shave, wax, or bleach unwanted hair again. No more razor
stubble, chafing, ingrown hairs or sores from shaving. You'll always
have that "just shaved" feel of oh-so-smooth skin!↑ TOP ↑
ACNE CLEARENCE
How is it possible?
The theory is simple. A flash of light within a specific wavelength over the treatment area penetrates deeply into the skin to cause the destruction of acne bacteria and the inflammation of the acne lesions. The heat from light opens the pores causing a chemical reaction to reduce inflammation of the acne lesions and speed up the healing process.↑ TOP ↑
How long is a treatment?
Each treatment is relatively quick, depending on the size of the area to be treated. For example, a full face treatment takes about 10 minutes, while a full face, back and shoulder treatment will take approximately 30 minutes with the SpectraClear System.↑ TOP ↑
Do I need more than one treatment?
Yes. Whether you have treatments with lasers, other light devices or the SpectraClear System, more than one treatment will be necessary. Results will be visible shortly after starting treatment, with clearance reaching up to 90% on average after 8 treatment sessions.
During your consultation, your skin specialist or health care professional will explain the details of the complete program. Most programs require 2 SpectraClear treatments a week for 4 weeks. Acne clearance will continue after the last treatment session. For the best results, it is recommended you have a follow up session 6-8 weeks after you complete the initial program.↑ TOP ↑
